Enjoying What Is - A New Year of Acceptance

As we enter another year I'm drawn to the celebration of what is. While this first week in January is a wonderful opportunity to reflect and reavaluate goals and intentions for what I want to bring in for 2008, there's a magic, wonder and depth to the stillness of enjoying this exact moment.

In the stillness, the acceptance of all that is comes the important reminder to truly "BE" alive rather than to strive.

How eloquent this reminder from Scripture: “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lillies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these." Matthew 6:27-29

Can we begin the year with the simplicity of the lily... glorious because we simply exist, without worry of being organized enough, thin enough, rich enough... Can 2008 be the year of celebration of what is?
