Find Your Touchstone

What inspires you?

Inspiration is such an important part of intuitive development... it's like a homing beacon, a touchstone, a symbol for our deepest and greatest truth.  I took some time off recently to do some visioning work. I call it "The Power of the Pause" because in choosing to break out of routine habits and patterns, ways of doing things, the Pause provides that necessary respite for deep, binding soul work.

In my visioning I became aware of many patterns and symbols that I hold in memory, thought or vibration as representation of my truest essence, purpose and contribution.  Eighteen years ago I wrote that part of my life's purpose was to "live my life for me, knowing this is my gift back to God." As a woman, wife and mother, with a long ancestry of caregivers in my family, this was indeed a novel but necessary concept. Some days I'm really good at it; other days not... the bottom line is that in my recent visioning work, I realized the visioning statement I'd come up with almost 20 years ago had not changed.

In choosing a career path, vocation and relationship and parenting choices that include a deep appreciation for The Intuitive Life, no matter what challenge may come up, I realize that in that concept and the symbols, pictures, ways of being that go with it, I have found an abiding inspiration that has truly formed the bedrock of my world - that touchstone is like a lighthouse, shining the way home for me and for others.  Intuitive development is ongoing commitment to conscious choice.  From this place, a sense of appreciation for the effort I make balances any neediness of my ego to cater to perfectionist or over-achiever behavior.  I say this because in intuitive application there is a time period where because we are changing gears, things may appear to take longer to manifest. And that's OKAY! Effort... what is the quality of my effort given my state of consciousness? So on those days when you feel the need to include more inspiration in your life, be comforted with the thought that in choosing to evolve consciously you have chosen the highest purpose possible. In choosing to live an intuitive life, you are meeting your soul's purpose! The striving, worry and incessant mind chatter can stop - an allowing, unfolding and flowering can begin again.

Find your inspiration and you have found your touchstone.
