  • Did you know that February was originally the last month of the year? It is named after "februa," the plural of the Roman word "februum" for purification. Each year the Romans held a a festival to prepare for the year as well as for the new planting season.
  • According to the Chinese Zodiac, the Year of 2008 is a Year of the Rat (Earth), which begins on February 7, 2008 and ends on January 25, 2009.
A Rat Year is a time of hard work, activity, and renewal. This is a good year to begin a new job, get married, launch a product or make a fresh start.
Ventures begun now may not yield fast returns, but opportunities will come for people who are well prepared and resourceful. The best way for you to succeed is to be patient, let things develop slowly, and make the most of every opening you can find.
  • Interesting Note: On new year's eve, I had the privilege of being interviewed with 4 other clairvoyants on Breakfast TV to give our predictions for the year. We had a blast and every single one of us predicted similar trends contained in the Chinese Zodiac.... so.... whatever you dare to dream of for 2008... this is the year to make it happen and think outside the box!
  • People born in an Earth Rat are said to be logical realists, shrewd, charming, ambitious, and inventive. Famous Rat People include: Alyssa Milano, Cameron Diaz, Charlotte Bronte, Daryl Hannah, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennie Garth, Kristen Scott Thomas, Lauren Bacall, Lucrezia Borgia, Margaret Mitchell, Margot Kidder, Mata Hari, Nancy Wake, Olivia Newton-John, Sinead Cusack, Stevie Nicks, Toni Collette, and Tracy Pollan.
  • Both the new moon and the full moon are important intention setting times. New Moon and Solar Eclipse on February 6 and Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse on Feb 20

    Happy Spring!
  • Did you know that March is named after the planet Mars? Mars, was the god of war but also the protector of crops and the field.
  • March is the sign of Spring and traditions from around the world see this month as a time of renewal, rebirth and purification. Spring cleaning includes not only the house and yard, but also the opportunity to make things right in relationship.
  • The celebration of Easter is an opportunity for all cultures regardless of religious traditions to come together in the celebration of life.
  • The New Moon on March 7 is an opportunity for reflection, rest and renewal. With spring only two weeks away, this new moon represents a gateway of promise; as we reflect and release habits, patterns and results that no longer serve us, we till our internal soil and weed out the old to make room for what we truly want. This spring cleaning of our minds and intentions is an important aspect of intuition development and I invite you to look into each aspect of your life to reveal and release.
  • Generally speaking, the Full Moon represents a peak in energy; many traditions teach that the full moon is the single best time to meditate, set intention and perform celebrations. With the full moon on March 21, we have the opportunity to plant the seeds of desire for what we wish to manifest in the balance of 2008.

The ABC's of Intuition - A Bold Choice

In today's culture we may not hold festivals of purification as the Romans did to prepare for the new year and the upcoming planting season. However, we can certainly create personal ceremonies of great meaning that honour and purify our intuitive connection, desires, hopes, goals, dreams, intentions and visioning.

Step# 1 A Bold Choice in Intuition Development
1. Oftentimes bold choice is having the guts to make no choice at all. It is a time of allowing, reflection, meditation, stillness and being rather than doing
2. From this place we can be re-charged and feel even more energized to continue working towards our goals (hence the clarity to bring boldness to our action steps) and then "ACT" on our bold choices.
3. Or, we may realize that in revieiwng our results from our place of intuitive stillness, that our goals are no longer aligned with our higher purpose. Perhaps they have become distorted along the way; perhaps we've grown so much that the goal is too small for us now, or perhaps the goal is not yet germinating because we still have more groundwork to do, to prepare the soil so it can take root.
4.
Regardless, it's important to purify and re-calibrate to our higher purpose. A Bold Choice in this case, may require going into acceptance of what is actually occurring and being willing to change or release a goal, dream or habit.
5. In addition to the tools below, consider support in your intuition development through a personalized Mentoring Program

Accept where you are and start where you are.
Intuition can be tricky at times because in our mind's eye and in our gut, we know what ultimately is going to transpire. We are living the results in our minds but not yet in real time... we still have work to do to bring that future into our reality. How many "overnight" successes took 20 years to develop! With that in mind, acceptance of what is, is incredibly freeing and supports the patience to stay focused.
Breathe to invoke the new possibilities and information coming in, and to release what was or could have been.
Out with the old and in with the new. Old advice but good advice. Something as simple as taking three "conscious" breaths throughout our day, as many times as possible, can move us light years ahead.
Connect to the heart. This is where our truth lives. In the depth of our heart, we realign to our Higher Purpose... this is the joy that drives the "why," the bliss that we want and need to follow. As we grow intuitively, connecting to our truth will also mean however, that at times we must face our grief, despair, sadness, and ultimately our resistance. It is so important to remember to ride that wave as best we can without becoming totally consumed in it, for...

Resistance has meaning
In her book Write It Down, Make it Happen, Henriette Anne Klauser describes this beautifully and suggests writing answers to the following questions:
What in your life are you resisting?
Were are you digging your heels in?
Write down the reasons behind your reluctance.
What is it about moving forward does not seem safe? (You may think because of forces outside of you - go ahead, blame it on someone or something else. Start with that to get it out of your system). And then keep writing until you come to the truth.
What is it aobut YOU that resists taking this next step?

The truth shall set you free, and free the world to help you along a little
Truth is the ultimatel measuring stick; the timeless component of true success, the quality of our relationships, the contribution that we bring to our world. Truth is a vibration and like anything else, the higher the vibration, the purer the content and the quality. Truth magnetizes truth, so the more purity you bring into your life, the more freedom and the more assistance from a universe dancing, sparkling, blossoming and exploding into limitless possibilities.

If we all did the things we were capable of, we would literally astound ourselves.
Thomas Edison (US Inventor 1847-1931)

Step# 2 Allow Bold Choice - Take a Stand
1. Consider using the calendar for 2008 as an opportunity to develop your intuition further by...
2. Using the ABC's as a form of meditation to connect with your Intuitive or Higher Self (e.g., minimum of a couple of minutes to as long as you like).
Accept your alignment to source, (our intuition is part of our connection to consciousness), Breathe deeply and Connect with the heart.
3. From this place of intuitive focus, allow a word, phrase, symbol, feeling or sound to come into your awareness and write it down on the calendar - this is Your Stand. It will have deep resonance for you because it reflects an intuitive, deep, inner truth. Use this month to consistently focus on this aspect of truth for you.
4. Sit with the feelings that this Stand creates inside of you, notice how good, connected, clear and strong you feel in chooseing to bring this particular Stand into your life at this time.
5. The more clearly you can feel these feelings (list them on your calendar as your "good vibes," the more you will be harnassing the power of your intuition, your truth, which in turn will bring more truth, synchronicity and assistance into your life.
6. Use the calendar as a mediation tool both in the evening before you go to bed and in the morning when you wake up.
7. You may want to make a note of a word, a mood into the squares of each day as you record your intuitive experiences.
8. Even better, in conjunction with the calendar, consider using a journal to record your deeper reflections (the Intuition Strategy Planner I am compiling will be available for purchase soon). In the meantime,

Have Fun! And when things get "sticky, yucky or feeling heavy," remember that all kinds of things will be released from the sub-conscious (the purification is working)! The higher vibrational resonance of truth is replacing the lower vibrational energy patterns!

The One-Minute Intuition Boost - Clear your Energy Field

Just as we change the filters in our water purifiers, the oil in our cars, or shower our bodies, we need to keep our systems clear and clean energetically. This can include one or many techniques such as meditation, visualization, chakra cleansing and balancing, Reiki, etc. There are many types of meditation CD's available on the market (I'm currently creating one too), but here's a really fast and effective way of clearing your personal energy system from any stress, fear, negative thinking or negative influences:

A - Accept your alignment to source (our intuition is part of our connection to consciousness)
B - Breathe "conscious" breaths, deep, long, luscious, cleansing breaths; inhale peace, exhale used up energy, toxins, worries, etc.
C - Connect to the heart; the birthplace of inspiration, hopes and dreams and surround yourself in "heart light.". Visualize fingers of light gently combing through your energy field, from the top, all the way to the bottom, removing all impurities, fears, regrets, stresses, anxiousness, mind-blocks, etc. Take a minute or two to allow this process to complete. As you do, allow more deep breathes and notice how much better you feel; see and feel streams of light, running clear, clean, fresh, relaxed, revitalized and vibrant. End by filling your mind, body and emotions with this healing, cleansing light and surrounding yourself with a beautiful golden globe light

Other Purifiers to boost your intuition:
1. Epson salt bath (therapeutic and draws out toxins on many levels)
2. De-Clutter (intuitive flow is just that - flow... identify and monitor visible and invisible areas that collect clutter)
3. Clear your living or working space with a sage stick or clearing spray
4. When you wash your hands during the course of the day, say out loud or in your mind, "release, release, release," another purifying, de-stressing technique

Ask a question - tell a story and win!
"When you don't risk anything, you risk even more." Erica Jong
Intuition calls to each of us - in big ways and in little ways - all the time.
In all ways, the awareness and discernment of those callings is what intuition development is all about. The "knowing" that we have through our intuition is what evolves us. But along the way, we are met with ambiguity. How do I know this is intuition or not. How do I know that this is "really" what I'm supposed to do or not. Is this fear keeping me safe or preventing me from moving forward?

What 's your burning question in working with your intuition?

Email me your biggest challenges in working with and trusting your intuition for inclusion in the next newsletter.

Share your stories on how intuition helps you follow your dreams.
As I continue to write my book on intuition I am collecting personal stories and I want to hear from you by APRIL 30, 2008!
"Everyone has talent. What is rare is the courage to follow the talent to the dark place where it leads."
How has your intuition helped you in the dark place where talent leads?
What were the processes you used and what was the outcome?

With each question or story submitted, you are automatically entered to win a free mini telephone consultation with me.
If your question/story are the ones chosen for the next newsletter, you double your chances of winning!
